How Chimmy's began
Sophia and Diego Cardoso, the dynamic couple behind Chimmy's Sauce Company, are on a mission to bring an iconic taste of Argentina to enthusiastic foodies in Britain and beyond.
Originally from Buenos Aires, close-knit gatherings around good food are part of their heritage. Having served up their ever-popular chimichurri sauce at home barbeques for years, they were begged to produce it by the bucketload for a friend's wedding in the South of France and, after rave reviews, realised that a viable business was on the cards.
With an extraordinary culinary career including representing his country at Bocuse d'Or, working under Gordon Ramsay at London's Connaught Hotel, and his current position as head chef (and contributor to a Michelin Star) at Murano, it's easy to see why Diego's home-grown recipe is creating a stir.
Talented partner-in-crime (and wife), Sophia, has an equally stellar repertoire. She played professional volleyball in the US, acquired an MBA and is now the business powerhouse behind the sauce company's growing success.

Boxing up their flavour
Presently, they have three mouth-watering sauces under their belts, carefully tweaked to include less oil and fewer calories to suit the UK market. And, after an Ocado listing and a recent TV commercial, this six-year-old endeavour is jettisoning to exciting new heights.
With increasing interest, Diego and Sofia realised that it was time to focus on a more serious form of distribution. Online sales and dispatch would mean that good packaging was essential, so, after careful consideration, the couple took the next big step.
An initial call with WBC's key accounts team member, Louise, helped set the parameters. They needed a gift box which looked good, housed all three products and would be durable enough to withstand shipping and safe delivery. We had just the answer.
Creating the perfect fit
Our 330ml beer can gift box design is cleverly constructed to look like a house, so what better way to enhance the sentiment of delicious condiments that were developed in a home kitchen? Constructed from 100% recyclable kraft board, it is specially made to withstand the weight of glass bottles and can be carried with ease using its innovative built-in handle. With cutout windows that would display the Chimmy's eye-catching labels, it was the ideal solution. We also offered the options of a protective sleeve and elegant gift tags as a more comprehensive alternative.
Sophia received a speedy delivery of samples and a schematic based on our original product. From there she collaborated with Louise and designer, Noah, to create a bespoke version, made to fit.

Client testimonial
At WBC, we're geared towards customer satisfaction and, as with all great designs, Sophia worked with us to make subtle changes until she was 100% happy. Once we'd hit the nail on the head and production was underway, we caught up with the couple and were delighted by the following feedback:
"I knew what I wanted in my head, and Louise was very proactive in offering alternative solutions and creative ideas until we got it exactly right. It was great working with her and the team. It's still early days but having just launched the new box at the Taste of London, the feedback has been very complimentary".
With their logo and essential information included on the packaging, Chimmy's saucy trio, comprising their Classic Chimichurri, Smoky BBQ and a Spicy version(with a bit of a kick), is good to go. And our partnership with this tantalising brand is just the beginning of their journey.
