Frequently Asked Questions
Do food risers need a protective barrier when displaying unwrapped products?
This depends on the material. Our galvanised metal, brass, and marble risers are food-safe, allowing you to place food directly onto the surface. While our mango and acacia wood boards are also food-safe, we always suggest using waxed paper if they are coming into direct contact with oily or moist food items to protect the natural finish. Please check the individual product listings for specific details or contact our team for guidance.
How do I clean and maintain WBC's food risers between uses?
This depends on the material. Acrylic and marble should be hand-washed in warm, soapy water with a soft cloth, while galvanised and brass metal surfaces can be easily wiped clean. Our slate-effect melamine boards are dishwasher safe for added convenience.
Wooden surfaces can be cleaned in warm, soapy water, but please avoid soaking them for long periods. Always dry them immediately with a soft cloth. To keep your wooden risers in peak condition, we also recommend applying an occasional coat of antibacterial chopping board oil.
Can food display risers be used inside refrigerated display units?
Yes, our galvanised metal and marble display risers are suitable for refrigerated use, making them a practical choice for chilled counters in cafés and delis. However, wooden risers are best kept in ambient conditions, as high moisture levels can cause the natural wood to warp or crack over time. Please check the individual product listings for specific details or contact our team for guidance.
Are WBC's wooden food risers durable enough for daily commercial use?
Yes, our wooden food risers are durable, long-wearing and built with busy commercial environments in mind. To ensure your wooden risers maintain their quality and last even longer, we recommend applying an occasional coat of antibacterial chopping board oil to nourish the wood and provide an extra layer of protection.
How much weight can WBC's table risers support?
Our metal tripod risers hold up to 12kg, making them well-suited to wine tasting and retail displays. However, most risers are designed primarily for display use rather than heavy-duty loading. If load capacity is a specific concern, please contact our team, and we can help you find the right solution for your requirements.
