Acacia wood is naturally antibacterial and food safe; however, as with other wooden serving boards and display surfaces, we recommend placing a sheet of waxed paper between the food and the wood when displaying moist or oily products. How do I keep wooden serving boards looking good?

We recommend hand washing wooden serving boards in warm, soapy water and drying them immediately after cleaning. Avoid putting them in a dishwasher, as excessive heat and moisture can cause the wood to warp or crack over time. To keep the wood in good condition and prevent it from drying out, apply an occasional coat of our antibacterial chopping board oil. With proper care, a wooden serving board can withstand daily use on a deli counter for many years.

What should I put under a dome, and what should I leave open?

Domes and food guards are ideal for protecting products from dust and preventing unnecessary handling by customers. They're a great choice for cakes, pastries, cut cheese and other fresh food items. Tiered stands are better suited to packaged goods, fruit and grab-and-go items. Combining the two on the same counter can create an attractive display, with covered products positioned at the back for height and open displays at the front for easy access.
