Sustainability Icons

Information

As a packaging supplier, we have a bigger responsibility than most to ensure we minimise our impact on the environment.

For us sustainability means  taking care of the environment but also helping you make the most informed choices when purchasing from us, which is why we have made this handy guide to all our eco icons;

Recyclable

Recyclable indicates products that can be easily recycled in a normal domestic setting.

The vast majority of our products are 100% recyclable and we strive to increase this number each year.

Recycle
With Care

Recycle with care indicates products that need to be taken to a recycling centre.

Where it’s not possible to recycle easily at home, we work hard to ensure we are still using materials
that can be recycled.

Recycled
Content

This tag showcases products that are made from recycled content.

We consider how our products are manufactured & how we source our materials, ensuring we reuse recycled content as much as possible.

Compostable

These products are fully compostable i.e. they can be broken down into organic matter.

Garden waste such as leaves, grass clippings and non-animal food make great compost, but the term can also apply to anything made from organic matter which breaks down in under 12 weeks and enhances soil quality.

Biodegradable

Biodegradable, like compostable, means broken down into smaller pieces by bacteria, fungi or microbes (things naturally occurring in the ground).

However, the main differences are there is no time limit on when items can be considered biodegradable. It can take weeks or even years to break down and still be regarded as biodegradable.

FSC
Certified

We try to gain accreditations as much as possible to help keep us on track, and as a way of
showcasing our sustainability success.

FSC-certified wood means the material has been

certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability.

PEFC
Certified

PEFC, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems.

As an international non-profit, non-governmental organization, they are dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.

Plastic -
Free

We are always looking to reduce plastic in our products since we know unequivocally this
helps prevent pollution and reduce demand for fossil fuel consumption.

Some of our products use recycled or recyclable plastics but, we have highlighted those excluding them entirely for full clarity.

Eco PLUS

Whilst the vast majority of our products have a high recycled content and are 100% recyclable,
we have picked the very best of them to be flagged with our eco+ icon.

These products are our flag ship eco products that contain at least 70% recycled raw material and are 100% recyclable.

Cocobagh

Cocobagh is our a sustainable charity where all profits are reinvested back into the project to offer more opportunities for the whole community.

Focused on empowering widowed women who have little to no access to training or employment and teaches them the male-dominated art of stitching and bag making. Our goal is to support these women by providing them with the basic finances, the skills and route to employment – so that they can ultimately afford to send their children to school.
