Frequently Asked Questions
What types of counter displays does WBC offer?
Our counter display range features everything from tiered units and risers to elegant cake domes, serving boards, and caddies. We highly recommend risers and cake stands to optimise your layout; by creating layers, you save valuable counter space while significantly enhancing product visibility. If you are looking to highlight specific items, our versatile serving boards work beautifully on both tables and counters. Not sure where to begin? Contact our team today and start curating the perfect look.
Are your counter display stands suitable for displaying food directly?
Yes, the majority of our counter displays are food-safe, allowing you to place food directly onto them. Our acrylic and galvanised metal trays are ideal for refrigerated displays and are easy to wipe clean. For temperature-sensitive items, our melamine slate and marble-effect boards are excellent for maintaining a cool presentation surface. While our mango and acacia wooden boards are food-safe, we recommend using greaseproof or waxed paper for oily or moist foods to preserve the wood's finish. For specific guidance, please check the individual product descriptions.
Can I add pricing or product information to a counter display unit?
Absolutely. Our range of labelling solutions includes magnetic and self-adhesive chalkboard strips and liquid chalk markers, allowing you to update prices and product names without permanent marks. These are practical, reusable, and easy to refresh as your range changes. For a more elevated look, we also stock various freestanding holders and signage tags.
Are the trays on WBC's tiered retail counter displays removable?
Yes, the trays on our tiered display units are fully removable. As part of the Railton collection, these units consist of a sturdy metal frame paired with small or medium trays, making them incredibly easy to restock, clean, and rearrange. Because the trays are also available separately, you have the flexibility to mix and match materials, including lightweight wood, brass, acacia, and galvanised metal.
Do WBC's counter display stands arrive ready assembled?
Most of our displays arrive ready to use straight from the box. For items like our tiered units or separate risers, assembly is as simple as placing the board onto the frame, no tools or hardware are required. You can find specific details on what is included and how it arrives in the individual product descriptions to ensure it meets your requirements before ordering.
How do I choose between a riser and a tiered display unit?
It depends on your available counter space and how many items you wish to showcase. A riser lifts a single surface, making it ideal for putting a 'hero' item in the spotlight. In contrast, a tiered display unit provides multiple levels within a single footprint, allowing you to showcase an additional 3 to 9 products depending on their size. For the most engaging display, we recommend using a mix of both to create varied heights across your counter, which naturally draws the customer’s attention.
Can I add to or expand a counter display unit after my initial purchase?
Yes, our counter display units are designed for maximum flexibility. Because our trays are interchangeable, you can easily swap styles as your display evolves, provided you stay within the same range, whether it's the Railton tiered units, Matlock tripods, or Leander risers. Since riser frames are available separately from their display boards, you can purchase new components at any time; just ensure you select the matching shape to guarantee a perfect fit.
Can risers and tiered units from the same range be used together?
Although these belong to two distinct product ranges, our risers and tiered display units are designed with a similar aesthetic and work seamlessly alongside each other. Both are freestanding, making it easy to position them side-by-side to create a cohesive counter display. If you're looking to combine height and multi-level display, our team can suggest combinations that sit well together visually.
