Introducing Chimmy's
Sofia and Diego Cardoso, natives of Buenos Aires now living in Brentford, London, founded Chimmy’s Chimichurri Sauce to blend their Argentinian heritage with British culture. Diego, a Michelin-starred chef, crafted a unique version of Argentina’s classic chimichurri.
The Chimmy's Chimichurri Sauce, initially a homemade favourite, became a business idea in 2018 after receiving rave reviews at a friend’s wedding in France. Despite the challenges of full-time jobs and the COVID-19 pandemic, Chimmy’s grew steadily. Sofia eventually left her job to focus entirely on the business, leading to successes like a listing with Ocado and a TV advertisement.
Chimmy’s Chimichurri Sauce, drawing on Diego’s culinary expertise and Argentinian roots, offers a healthier twist on the traditional recipe by using dried herbs and less oil, appealing to European tastes. The sauces are preservative-free, vegan, and come in three flavours: Classic, Smoky BBQ, and Spicy.
Growing the business with confidence
With demand increasing to send bottles to their customers they were looking for a packaging solution that not only protected their bottles during shipping, but also bought the brand to life. Being new to the process, Chimmy’s were looking for a packaging partner that had the best product but would help them through the process as well.
In late 2023, Sophia approached WBC with a clear vision for Chimmy’s: to create a robust yet visually appealing packaging solution for their new trio gift box. The goal was to ensure the packaging not only protected the products during shipping but also maintained an attractive appearance that aligned with Chimmy’s brand identity.
Creating the perfect fit for the packaging
Investing in packaging can be stressful for a start-up. It was important that Sophia was reassured at every step of the process that WBC was the right partner for their business.
Our packaging expert, Louise, guided her through each stage of the process, the first step was to fully understand Sophie’s requirements and preferences for the packaging.
A key part of the process for Louise was to ensure a perfect fit for the Chimmy’s bottles, she obsessed over the detailed measurements of the packaging to maximise both protection and visual impact.
Then over to Noah, our in-house designer, who bought the idea to life by refining the initial concepts, to transform the ideas into a tangible reality. Noah produced a series of mock-ups for Sophia to meticulously review which Louise turned into samples, enabling Sophia to feel confident in the packaging’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Finalising the design and production
Within a month, we had fine-tuned the design and finalised the specifications. The packaging was then sent into production, culminating in a product that Sophia described as “practical, and eye-catching with our logo.” The new packaging was delivered promptly, just in time for Chimmy’s to unveil their trio gift box at the prestigious Taste of London event, pictured on the right. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees complimenting the stylish and functional design of the new packaging.
Client testimonial
Reflecting on her experience with WBC, Sophia expressed high praise for the team’s support and professionalism:
“Louise has been extremely helpful and above all, patient with me. I knew what I wanted; the idea was there in my head, but I needed to see it on a digital or physical sample. Along the way, I made numerous changes, and she always responded with a yes. Louise was also very proactive in offering alternatives or advice, which was very welcome. Overall, it was great working with her and the rest of the team.”
